WATCH: Public Safety & Emergency Response
June 21st, 2021
In April, we were delighted to welcome Romeo Durscher from Auterion to lead one of our AidRobotics online course community calls on 'Drones for Public Safety & Emergency Response.'
As one of the drone industry's top executives and a highly experienced leader in aerospace and unmanned aerial systems, Romeo joined Auterion as vice president. Before joining Auterion, Romeo spent six years at DJI as senior director of public safety integration, where he built the public safety vertical. Through his leadership, active deployments, and drive to bring new technologies to emergency services, he has become a well-known and respected thought leader in the space.
Before joining DJI, Romeo spent twelve years working on NASA's Heliophysics Mission Solar Dynamics Observatory at Stanford University. Romeo was named one of the 25 Most Influential People in the Drone Industry by the Commercial UAV organization and one of 7 visionaries in Public Safety.
In this webinar, Romeo discussed:
- Auterion and their vision for Public Safety;
- Learnings and challenges in Public Safety;
- An overview of the Public Safety landscape; and
- Use cases for drones in Public Safety, like dealing with hazardous materials, collision reconstruction, or "drones as first responder" in emergencies.
Thanks to Romeo for his time and support of our learning community. Ten Eastern European countries currently follow our AidRobotics course as a broader program of the Secretariat of Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South-Eastern Europe (DPPI SEE).
