Flying Labs and WeRobotics Partner Up with AI for Good

AI for Good is the leading United Nations action-oriented, global, and inclusive platform on AI, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations’ not-for-profit specialized agency for ICTs, in partnership with 41 UN sister agencies and co-convened with Switzerland. The platform aims to bring together global experts and researchers in AI, from governments, civil society, academia, industry, and international organizations, to identify practical applications of AI and robotics to accelerate progress toward achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). 

In 2020, AI for Good launched the "Robotics for Good" programming track to explore the applications of intelligent autonomous systems to advance the UNSDGs. This programming track aligns with WeRobotics’ and Flying Labs’  work.

We have recently partnered with AI for Good to contribute to the “Robotics for Good” programming track. This partnership offers an excellent opportunity to share the impactful applications of Flying Labs in the form of use cases, first-hand experiences, learnings, and challenges of locally-led drones, data, AI, and robotics solutions in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Pacific.

Our first contribution is scheduled: Heidi Sampang from Philippines Flying Labs and Patrick Meier from WeRobotics are featured speakers in the upcoming AI for Good webinar “AI-powered vehicles for humanitarian help deployment” on Thursday 31 March 16:00-18:000 CET. 

WeRobotics has previously collaborated with the ITU through our successful participation in the WSIS Forum, another multi-stakeholders platform of the agency, back in 2018 and 2019. We are excited to continue our collaboration through this partnership and connect with like-minded experts across the globe to exchange experiences and best practices around the use of drones and robotics in the social good sector. 

A short series of webinars will be organized in collaboration with AI for Good, highlighting Flying Labs' work throughout the year. We look forward to telling you more in the upcoming months. Stay tuned for our announcements!
