WeRobotics featured in Crisis Response
December 13th, 2016
The latest edition of the Crisis Response Journal (CRJ 12.2) features part 1 of a 3-part article written by WeRobotics co-founder Andrew Schroeder. The article is entitled “Social Automation, Local Humanitarians and the Future of Crisis Response” and it provides an introduction to WeRobotics and some of the ways that automation is being extended for equitable and beneficial ends into new areas of social life. Andrew writes about how WeRobotics is helping local communities in developing countries to harness the power of robots, such as “drones” or UAVs, to build local capacity, foster resilience to disasters, and incubate and sustain new businesses. Part 1 of the series opens with our recent mission to Bukoba, Tanzania, and then explains the evolution of UAVs for social good by telling the story of the Kathmandu Earthquake response.
You can find the first part of the article on the Crisis Response website. In addition Crisis Response created a PDF summary of the journal edition, which you can find by clicking on the cover page below.
