IWD 2024: Inspiring Inclusion at WeRobotics and in the Flying Labs Network

Transforming cultural mindsets and achieving systemic change in any field is undeniably a long, arduous journey. Over a century since the inception of the first International Women’s Day, the rallying cry for gender equality continues to resonate. Many pioneers have walked this path before us, and many will follow in our footsteps tirelessly, recognizing that this labor is not only significant but also the sole path forward. 

As WeRobotics and the Flying Labs Network joins the rest of the world in celebrating International Women's Day 2024 under the theme "Inspire Inclusion", we remain steadfast in our stance that that investing in women — particularly in the dynamic and evolving field of drones and robotics — is an investment in the very essence of our society. The benefits, far from being exclusive to women, are shared by all, and the dividends of inclusion reverberate across every facet of human life. In the iconic words of Egyptian writer and activist Nawal El Saadawi, “Women are half the society. You cannot have a revolution without women…You cannot have dignity or social justice or freedom without women.” 

So what does “Inspire Inclusion” mean to us?
