Idea Pitching Day in Nepal for our Business Incubation program
March 29th, 2017
Our first “Drone as a Service” Business Incubation Program, organized in Kathmandu in collaboration with Nepal Flying Labs, the Nepal Engineering Association (NEA), and the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN), is moving ahead swiftly.
The first part - the “Ideation phase” - of this 5 month long program has successfully ended with the Idea Pitching Day on March 18th. 37 ideas have been submitted since the end of January and 19 of these ideas were selected to participate in the Idea Pitching Day.
The event, organized by our Nepal Flying Labs Coordinator Uttam Pudasaini, was a great success and garnered national attention. Over 100 people joined to see the 19 teams pitch their drone related business ideas to a panel of expert judges that then selected the 4 finalist teams.
These 4 finalist teams will now move on to the next phase of the Business Incubation Program: a five-day business development seminar that I am proud to organize in collaboration with my friend Laurent Kohler, economist and business development expert, in Kathmandu from April 10 - 14. During this week, we will share our knowledge with the finalist teams on how to turn their ideas into solid business plans. Following the seminar, the teams will have 6 weeks to iterate on their business plan and create a final version of their pitch for the last part of the program: the business plan competition. An expert jury will then elect the winner of our first “Drone as a Service” Business Incubation program.
