Humanitarian Drone Code of Conduct - New Website
March 21st, 2018
The Humanitarian UAV Code of Conduct was first launched by the Humanitarian UAV Network (UAViators) in 2014. The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to inform the safe, coordinated and effective use of UAVs across a wide range of humanitarian contexts. The Code of Conduct has since been revised several dozen times thanks to important contributions from several dozen humanitarian and development organizations as well as donors. In 2015, for example, the Rockefeller Foundation kindly hosted a 3-day workshop at their center Italy, which brought together many key experts to fully revise the Code of Conduct and associated guidelines. Later that year, UAViators launched WeRobotics. We thus have a direct connection to the Code of Conduct, which is why we've created this dedicated website for said Code: UAVcode.org. This will give the Code of Conduct more visibility and attention. We encourage you to use the hashtag #UAVcode when discussing or posting information relevant to this Code of Conduct and to the general topic.
