Profile Ramah Kenneth

Kenneth has over 5 years of experience focusing on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation and mitigation, food security, and community economic empowerment in the nonprofit sector. He has a progressive track record in project management in both development and humanitarian sectors working in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Previously, Kenneth worked as a Climate and Resilient Livelihoods Advisor for VSO International for 4 years. He collaborated with local and regional stakeholders to spearhead the integration of community-based approaches to DRR and climate resilience. He is also a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion expert who supports various local and international organizations such as VSO Kenya, Youth for Sustainable Development Network, and YEPI to challenge discrimination and oppression of vulnerable persons.
 

Kenneth is a proud volunteer and promotes youth leadership in Kenya and globally. He co-founded Youth for Sustainable Development (YSD), leveraging his experience in community mobilization, advocacy, and mentorship to build community resilience in health, environment, governance, and economic prosperity. In 2019 and 2020, Kenneth was awarded the volunteer of the year (resilient livelihoods category) by VSO.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, as a Chevening Scholar. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University in Kenya.

Kenneth’s education, work, and volunteering experience have seen him continue to promote technology and innovation for more empowered and resilient communities globally.
