DRM Conferences 4

We’re excited to share that WeRobotics will be co-organizing and co-hosting two regional conferences this year that bring together technology, community, and policy to tackle one of the most urgent global challenges of our time: disaster risk management.

This November, we return to South Africa in partnership with South Africa Flying Labs, QP Drone Tech, and Esri to host the 4th edition of the Drones, AI, and GIS for Disaster Risk Management Conference in KwaZulu-Natal.

Last year’s conference was a melting pot of innovation, collaboration, and thought-provoking discussions. The video below showcases our top highlights, and you can read more about the stakeholders that came together, the conversations and activities that took place, and the people who made it all possible on South Africa Flying Labs’ blog

This year’s regional gathering for the Southern African (SADC) region will continue to focus on enhancing awareness, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, and demonstrating learning and applying best practices. As an additional focus, we will make space for discussions and learnings around making the case for the value of geospatial data.

Participants can look forward to three days of engaging sessions that explore how cutting-edge technologies are being used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters. From live demonstrations to hands-on workshops and in-depth discussions, the conference will offer ample opportunities for collaboration and cross-sector learning. Whether you're a government official, a humanitarian worker, a researcher, or a tech innovator, you’ll find space to contribute your expertise and help shape a regional roadmap for integrated, data driven, and locally led disaster resilience.

Then in December, we head to Montego Bay, Jamaica for the first Caribbean and Central America edition of the regional conference series, co-organized with Jamaica Flying Labs and Esri, and supported by the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) as a strategic partner. As hurricanes, floods, and other hazards become more frequent and intense, the demand for localized, data-driven solutions is more pressing than ever in the region. Dubbed Turning Data into Action: Harnessing Drones, AI & GIS for Resilient Futures, this regional event will bring together leaders from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector to explore how drones, AI, and GIS can be harnessed to build resilience from the ground up.

Over three days, participants will examine how technology can strengthen disaster preparedness, improve early warning systems and emergency response, inform smarter infrastructure and resilience planning, and build the long-term capacity of local actors and institutions.

We warmly invite National Disaster Management Agencies, geospatial professionals, local non-profit organizations, academic researchers, students, and private sector representatives focused on climate and insurance to join us at these gatherings. These conferences are designed to create space for connection, collaboration, and collective impact, and we hope to see you there.
