How Collaborative Solution Spaces are Shaping Mobility in Dakar

How do collaboration and shared solution spaces shape sustainable technology projects?
DAKFLOW is a collaborative Research and Development initiative that seeks to use drone imagery, geospatial data, and artificial intelligence to equip local stakeholders and policymakers with practical tools to better understand and manage how people and vehicles move through the city of Dakar, Senegal. In this impact story Tiamiyou RADJI, Director of Senegal Flying Labs, shares why the project began its journey not with technology, but with a co-creation workshop.
The workshop brought together local stakeholders to identify real mobility challenges and opportunities before any technical work began, which shifted the project from a top-down, tech-driven process to a collaborative, needs-based one. This approach revealed essential insights that could only be uncovered by gathering diverse stakeholders in one room to build local ownership of both the process and outcomes.
Watch the video below to witness the value of creating collaboration spaces first, and only then adding technology to the mix — turning congestion into connection, and stakeholders into co-creators of lasting change.
